About

ABA Architects, formed by Anthony Brabazon in 1993, is an architectural practice based in Dublin, Ireland.  In over 27 years of practice, the firm has dealt with a variety of projects spanning different scales and sectors, with particular experience in delivering residential designs.  The practice is accredited in conservation at grade III, and finds great interest in dealing with conservation projects.  

Other building types to date have included apartments, coffee shops, clinics, educational buildings, interior fit-outs, laboratories, libraries, religious buildings, restaurants and third-level college facilities.

While the majority of the practice's work to date has been carried out in Dublin, other projects have been completed throughout Ireland and in the UK.

Anthony Brabazon graduated from University College Dublin in 1985 and formed the company in 1993 having previously worked in 2 Dublin practices. Attracted to architecture after visited the Munich Olympic Stadium in the late 1970’s he has remained enthusiastic about the need to create special solutions to ordinary design problems. Anthony served as Honorary Secretary in the RIAI in the 1990's and sat for 4 years on the Professional Conduct Committee. In 2005 Anthony gained the accreditation "Architect Accredited in Conservation at Grade III" and has since worked on the restoration of numerous protected structures. In recent years he founded the RIAI Dublin Forum to foster collegiality and networking among small practices. In 2009 he created Help My House, a nationwide troubleshooting consultancy service. In 2015 Anthony was elected as Fellow in the RIAI following 25 years continued membership.

Liesl Germishuys graduated from the University of Pretoria in South Africa with a B Int (Hons) degree in Interior Architecture.  Liesl was part of the ABA team from 2005 - 2010 after which she moved to South Africa for a few years. Upon her return to Ireland she has been working at ABA Architects again since 2018.

Noah Brabazon completed a Bachelor of Architectural Science in University College Dublin in 2018, and is currently undertaking a Masters of Architecture at UCD.  He has experience working in firms of varying scales in Dublin and Vancouver.
